Our Safety Philosophy
Premier Fire & Security places safety as its utmost priority, aiming for zero incidents through strict standards, dedicated safety measures, and proactive initiatives. We believe safety is a shared responsibility, with a commitment to continuous improvement, refusal of shortcuts compromising safety, and a belief that all incidents are preventable, aligning with customer expectations of surpassing industry safety standards.
We believe that the safety of people is of utmost importance, along with quality, production, and cost-control. Maintenance of safe operating procedures at all times is of both monetary and human value, with the human value being far greater to the employer, the people, and the community. The following principles support this philosophy:
- All injuries and accidents are preventable through establishment and compliance with safe work procedures.
- The prevention of bodily injury and safeguarding of health are the first considerations in all workplace actions and are the responsibility of every team member at every level.
- Written safety plans describing the safe work practices and procedures to be practiced in all workplace actions are an essential element of the overall workplace safety program. All team members at every level are responsible for knowing and following the safety practices described in the written safety plans.
- Off the job, all team members should be similarly safe and demonstrate awareness of potential hazards.
Integrated Safety Practices
- Premier employs dedicated safety leaders and a proactive Safety department.
- Implement regular safety audits to ensure compliance with strict standards.
- Provide comprehensive safety training for all team members, emphasizing our shared responsibility in maintaining a safe workplace.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback from team members on safety procedures and protocols.
- Establish clear protocols for reporting and investigating near-misses and incidents to prevent future occurrences.
- Foster proactive measures like the Striving Toward Excellence and Professionalism in Safety (STEPS) initiative to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards before they escalate.
- Empower every team member with the authority to stop work if they perceive any unsafe conditions.
- Conduct regular reviews of safety measures to identify areas for enhancement and maintain dedicated safety measures.
- Foster a zero-tolerance policy for shortcuts that compromise safety, reinforcing the belief that safety is non-negotiable.
- Emphasize the importance of individual accountability in preventing incidents and promoting safety awareness.
- Exceed industry standards in safety documentation and performance, consistently striving to surpass customer expectations and maintain a superior safety record.
- Written Safety Plans in place:
Because we care about our team members and strive to provide a safe workplace, we have put into place a number of written safety plans. These written plans provide guidance and direction for the safety issues they cover. Those plans are covered throughout this Accident Prevention and Safety Manual.

Core Beliefs
Safety is a shared responsibility, with everyone empowered to stop unsafe work, learn from incidents, and continuously improve safety awareness. The company emphasizes that all incidents are preventable and refuses shortcuts that compromise safety
Stop Work Authority
As a Premier Fire and Security representative, team members have the responsibility and the authority, without fear of reprimand or retaliation, to immediately stop any work activity that presents a danger to themselves, coworkers, clients, the public, or the environment. It is each team member’s responsibility to get involved by questioning and rectifying any situation that is an at-risk behavior or condition. If the team member does not feel the issue is addressed adequately, the team member has the responsibility to raise it to a higher level.
